The museum is located a few minutes from Tsuwano station. The exterior is suggestive of a wine cellar with white plaster walls and red tiles.
Anno Mitsumasa Museum opened on the 20th of March in 2001.
There are many works by Anno Mitsumasa, who is from Tsuwano.
His major works include “Mysterious works”
“Anno’s Magical ABC”
“Anno’s Medieval World”
The exhibits are changed in the museum every 3 months.
Behind the exhibition room, an old Japanese school and its small library has been reproduced.
There is also a planetarium inside that can seat 50 people.
Upstairs, Anno’s atelier or painting workshop has been reproduced.
There are souvenirs of Anno’s works available in the gift shop in the lobby.
